A quick note: “Allow left-right scrolling / Turn off scrolling” is a nice feature. However, HTML rendering could work in Messaging as in IEM/PIE (the latter has a much better scrolling approach with documents that contains tables that are too wide and, therefore, can not be rendered in the available screen estate): 1. only tables/images would be needed to be scrolled, NOT the text. I’ve made two screenshots showing this case. In the attached RAR file, Screen001.png shows the case of a wide table (taken from my mailer roundup chart at http://www.winmobiletech.com/022006MailerClients/MailerCompChart.html ) and a simple text (below) without allowing for scrolling. As can be seen, the text is rendered right (that is, it’s completely readable). After, however, switching to scrollable mode (so that the wide table can fully be examined by scrolling), the text below also must be scrolled. This is what can be seen in Screen002.png. This behaviour is opposed to how the PIE engine works when, say, used from third-party apps like CHM readers (for example, that of microOlap) – or, 2. for this test, I’ve used the test HTML file at http://menneisyys.freeweb.hu/PIErescheck/addon.html (also widely used in my article about the PIE pixel doubling at http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=340214 ), mailed from Outlook Express (to avoid the ‘winmail.dat’ problem of plain Outlook outlined above and in my mailing-related articles) the images
